Cannon Law has been helping clients in Illinois recover from accidents at work or on the road for 30+ years. We are seeking a dedicated and organized Administrative Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting daily office operations and ensuring efficient workflow. This position requires strong clerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide excellent customer support. Responsibilities
- Setup and manage client files, both paper and electronic.
- Supports the clean-up of diary entries.
- Provides general administrative support, such as photocopying, scanning, and filing documents
- Inputs and updates information in databases and spreadsheets.
- Coordinates logistics for meetings, including room setup and catering.
- Handle day-to-day office operations and ensuring office space is clean, and supplies are always in stock or readily available.
- Assist with letter writing and outgoing mail to clients and mailing list.
- Maintain a record of office supply inventory.
- Answer and direct incoming calls; take and relay messages.
- Sign for deliveries, ensure all mail and packages are distributed accordingly.
- Scan and file all paper mail or other documents.
- Monitor and circulate fax messages
- Input paid expense INV and or Receipts to SB at direction of staff
- Research newsletter and website updates at direction of attorney and/or paralegal
- Update mailing list with new clients
- Run weekly, monthly, quarterly reports
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a legal administrative assistant, receptionist, or in a similar clerical role is preferred.
- Strong proofreading skills with an eye for detail to ensure accuracy in all documentation.
- Excellent customer support skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Proficient computer literacy, including familiarity with office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to type efficiently and accurately while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in office management is a plus but not required.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No nights
- No weekends
